India's explosive left-handed opener Abhishek Sharma continued his impressive run in T20 internationals, becoming the fastest batter to score 1,000 runs in the format in terms of balls faced. Abhishek reached the milestone in just 528 deliveries, breaking the previous record held by Suryakumar Yadav, who took 573 balls to achieve the feat. England's Phil Salt (599 balls), Australia's Glenn Maxwell (604), and the pair of Andre Russell and Finn Allen (609 each) complete the top five. Abhishek Sharma’s run rampage continued as he waltzed to the top of the T20I scoring charts when he became the fastest man to reach 1000 T20I runs during the fifth India versus Australia match at Gabba on Saturday. Opening the batting for the Men in Blue, Sharma reached the milestone when he reached 11 runs in 7 deliveries, completing the 1000-run milestone in only his 29th innings since his debut in July 2024.
