Jammu: On Thursday, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, Bhim Sen said that four terrorists are believed to be trapped in an encounter underway at Basantgarh in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the press, Bhim Sen Tuti said an encounter raged between security forces and terrorists around 8:30 am on Thursday, however, the weather is not favourable.
“After the weather improves, the situation will become better and clearer. As per our assessment, four terrorists are holed up,” said BS Tuti.
Earlier, a fierce gunfight raged between security forces and terrorists at Bihali area of Basantgarh in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Following the specific inputs, a joint operation was launched by Indian Armed Forces and J&K Police in the Bihali of Basantgarh. Reinforcements were pushed in the area to counter the terrorists and thwart any sort of damage.
